Every Thursday from 9AM to Noon, our military heroes come out to enjoy the beach and surf. Helpers are needed as well as soft top boards, wetsuits, etc. HELP!

17th Street in Del Mar is a sandy bottom beach break along a beautiful stretch of beach with a number of sandbar breaks. Best at low to mid tide. Main lifeguard station is right there with surfing allowed from 100 yards north and south of the lifeguard station.

Randy : Just finished a fun session at the Oceanside Pier South side. Surfline said 2-3, but there is a sweet 2 wave set swell coming every 5 minutes or so and breaking nicely for about 50 yards. Took out my 10.0 Rick Rock Log and had a ball. Also the water temp must be close to 70 and with the sun beginning to peak out, wear less rubber, maybe even board shorts and a rash guard, at lease until the wind come back.

Great accomodations at La Fonda Motel and a beautiful sandy bottom beach with two rocky point breaks at each end. AWESOME!

La Fonda Motel sits on the bluff above a beautiful, empty beach with a dozen fast and usually BIG beach breaks plus a point/reef break at each end of this glorious stretch of beach. Just 59 Kilometers south of the border (35 miles) it is an easy SAFE drive along the toll road ($4.00 total tolls each way.) La Fonda Motel offers rustic/clean rooms, a fantastic restaurant that really gets lively on Friday and Saturday nights with live music and dancing.

contact www.baja-rentals.com and book a couple of nights at one of the luxury Club Marena villas. With private access to a calm bay to paddle out to the K38 point break, heated pool, wifi, big screen satellite TV, it is a great, fun and SAFE Mexico surfing safari.

Buckaneers in South Oceanside is a great place to learn to surf. I really like this spot for the sandy bottom, great family vibe, lifeguard on duty (summer), showers, bathrooms and snack shack. And plenty of FREE parking. www.surfrandy.com, randy@surfrandy.com for lesson info.

Buckaneer is a fun break at mid tide with a sandy bottom, lifeguard, showers and bathrooms. There is even a snack shack and coffee cart with free parking in the lot and on the street. From the 5 Freeway take the Oceanside Blvd exit, head to the beach. Turn left and the park is a couple of blocks south of Oceanside Blvd. and S. Pacific St. ENJOY!
